St. Louis-based event among world’s top Event of the Year honorees  

sawib17_bronze_winnerSt. Louis, MO—Shining a spotlight on women executives, entrepreneurs, and organizations run by women, winners in the 2017 Stevie Awards for Women in Business were announced on Friday, November 17. The Midwest Women Business Owners’ Conference (MWBOC)—a St. Louis-based event presented by business consulting and coaching organization, Black Dress Partners, and premier accounting firm and title sponsor, Anders CPAs + Advisors —received the bronze award in the Event of the Year category.

The Stevie Awards is an international competition produced by the creators of the prestigious International Business Awards and American Business Awards. The Stevie is widely considered to be the world’s premier business award. More than 1,500 nominations from organizations and individuals in 25 nations were submitted to the awards this year for consideration in various categories.

More than 170 professionals around the world participated in the judging process to determine the winners which reflect a diverse group of large and small organizations. With more than 500 accomplished women from around the globe in attendance, the awards were announced at a gala dinner at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Nations represented at the event included Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Germany, Iceland, India, Mexico, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, U.S.A., and the United Kingdom.

“We knew that we were on to something when in its first year, MWBOC sold 200 tickets, and in its second year, sold out a 300+ capacity room,” said Joy. “Now, as a Stevie Award winner, we realize that the sky is the limit in 2018. Our reach will continue to broaden and we’re confident that the next event will unite women business owners in a more powerful way than ever.”

MWBOC 2018 will take place on May 17 at The Ritz-Carlton in St. Louis. The event will feature high-performing business leaders addressing management, marketing, and operational challenges, and explore best practices for growth, mindset, corporate culture, employee retention, and more.
